Maori Wedding Procedures A traditional Maori themed wedding ceremony certainly adds a cultural flavor to the occasion. The Maori wedding commences with a traditional Maori welcome as the Bride & Groom are welcomed onto the venue.
During the ceremony the Bride & Groom adorn themselves by wearing the Maori wedding cloaks and receive greenstone gifts symbolising strength & happiness. The Maori Priest pronounces a blessing upon the newly weds and the hongi (touching of noses) takes place uniting the couple together as one.
Traditional Maori song and dance takes place throughout the Maori wedding and the Bride & Groom are serenaded with the world famous Maori love song Pokarekare ana as they exchange their vows to oneanother.
Nowhere else in the world are couples able to experience a truly unique and emotional Maori wedding experience!
Testimonial
We wanted to thank you for providing us with such a beautiful and unforgettable wedding ceremony. It was so much more than we ever could have imagined. Every detail was perfect and we were so happy to include some of your cultural beliefs and traditions. You made us feel so much more than just a couple getting married in New Zealand. Thank you also for the beautiful greenstones, they are a wonderful reminder of the Maori people, your thoughtfulness, generosity and kindness. The photos from the day are beautiful and I can’t wait to share them with others. Thank you again for everything! Please do keep in touch Craig & Chanda Mattson San Francisco, California
